Accessibility
FIR is committed to making our website accessible for all our valued members.
Wherever possible we’ve built our website to meet the majority of critical W3C AA compliance standards. To do this, we use a website content management system (Sitefinity) that complies with most critical W3C guidelines. We’ve also made our site so it can be navigated by members who use screen-reading software, and we’ve provided ALT tags for images used within the content of the site. These are important features for visitors with vision loss or impairment.
Our fully-responsive site works on most popular web browsers and mobile devices, including the latest versions of Microsoft Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari and Chrome. To get the very best experience, we recommend you keep your browser up-to-date and use the most current version whenever possible.
Helping you find the information you need
To help you quickly find what you’re looking for on our site, we’ve created overview pages for the site’s 4 main sections. Each overview page has a summary of the content you’ll find in that section. The site also has a robust search tool to help you find both text and PDF content.
Change your browser settings
We’ve designed the website to be as legible and as easy to navigate as possible. In addition to its “makes-sense” navigation, the site features font styles, sizes and colours that are a pleasure to read. If you prefer other font styles, you can override these settings and improve your online experience: you can change the colour of text, alter the background colours, change your browser window size to reduce line length, etc. To find out how to make these changes on some popular browsers, check out the articles below:

Documents
We’ve worked to limit the number of stand-alone documents on the site. In some cases, a printable document is needed to convey detailed information, and in such cases, we’ve used the standard Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF). To view these documents you’ll need Adobe Acrobat Reader which you can download for free from https://get.adobe.com/reader/.
